Meet the Administration

Dr. Abraham Dalu, President

Dr. Abraham Dalu, born and raised on the campus of Ethiopia Adventist College (EAC), is the second of seven siblings. His formative years were shaped by a strong foundation in faith, hard work, and a deep commitment to education. After completing high school at Kuyera Adventist Academy, he served as Assistant Farm Manager at EAC, contributing to the college’s mission through agriculture.

In 1978, he traveled to the former Soviet Union on government’s scholarship to pursue a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Agronomy in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, graduating in April 1984. Driven by a longing for religious freedom, Dr. Dalu made a courageous escape to West Berlin, Germany, and eventually emigrated to the United States in 1985.

In the U.S., he continued his academic journey, earning an MSc in Biology/Microbiology in 1987, followed by a Ph.D. in Pharmacology and Toxicology from the University of Louisiana at Monroe in 1995. His career in pharmaceutical research has been marked by significant contributions, including multiple publications in peer-reviewed journals and authorship of four chapters in the 1995 Encyclopedia of Toxicology.

A committed Seventh-day Adventist, Dr. Dalu married Aster Giorgis Dalu in 1986. Together, they have two children, Amelia and Abdissa, and a granddaughter, Fayo.

After spending more than four decades abroad, Dr. Abraham Dalu and his wife returned to Ethiopia as missionaries. He currently serves as President of Ethiopia Adventist College, soon to be Kuyera Adventist University, where he continues to lead with vision, passion, and a deep sense of purpose, inspiring future generations through education and faith.
