DEPARTMENTAL MESSAGE

Equipping Servants for God’s Mission”

Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!

It is my great joy to welcome you to the Department of Theology at Ethiopia Adventist College (EAC) — a place where faith meets learning, and knowledge leads to service. Our department exists to train and equip men and women who are called by God to serve as pastors, evangelists, chaplains, Bible teachers, and spiritual leaders within the Seventh-day Adventist Church and beyond.

At EAC, we believe that theological education is not merely the pursuit of knowledge, but the formation of character and the development of a Christ-centered worldview. Guided by the Word of God and the Spirit of Prophecy, our programs combine academic excellence with spiritual growth, practical ministry, and community engagement.

Our dedicated faculty members are passionate about teaching, mentoring, and modeling Christ-like service. They bring both theological depth and real-world ministry experience to the classroom — helping students grow intellectually, spiritually, and practically.

Through classroom instruction, field ministry, evangelistic outreach, and spiritual development programs, we seek to nurture a generation of leaders who will faithfully proclaim the everlasting gospel and transform their communities through compassion, integrity, and service.

As the Head of the Department, I invite you to explore what God may be calling you to do. Whether you sense a call to pastoral ministry, church leadership, or teaching, the Department of Theology at EAC offers you the foundation, the community, and the inspiration you need to fulfill that call.

We are honored to walk alongside you on this journey of faith and learning. May your time with us deepen your relationship with Christ and prepare you to serve the Church and the world with courage and conviction.

“And the things that you have heard from me among many witnesses, commit these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.” — 2 Timothy 2:2 (NKJV)

With blessings,
Pr. Mesfin Mandefro

Mission of the Religion/Theology Department

The mission of the School of Religion and Theology is to prepare pastors and scholars in Religion who will serve humanity within and outside the context of the church. For us the Judeo-Christian Scriptures are regarded as the authoritative Word of God, and they undergird both the development of scholarship and spirituality. Our total program promotes the harmonious development of body, mind, spirit, and the joy of service to humanity and to the glory of God.
